The Park, Navi Mumbai
Mar 6th, 2007 by ck
I’ve landed at India yesterday night and checked in at The Park hotel, Navi Mumbai. It’s a very new hotel launched less than a couple of months ago. Here are few pictures that I managed to take:
Please read on for my “mini-review” about this hotel after staying here for a night:
Pros:
- Excellent service from hotel staff. Helpful, efficient and friendly. For example, I wanted to borrow an iron from them but they did not have any extra iron to lend, in the end the staff offered me complimentary ironing service with no extra charge.
- Very new and modern design. It doesn’t have all those fantastic pattern on the wall, but to me, simplicity is the key. In fact, I was quite impressed with the decoration around.
- USD210/night obviously doesn’t look cheap, but that’s the standard rate in India major cities (you can easily get something around USD400/night here). What’s more with free airport transfer, 24-hour broadband, and complimentary breakfast and dinner, it’s quite a fair deal.
Cons:
- Since it’s a very new hotel, many things aren’t ready just yet. For example, only 2 out of 4 restaurants are operating right now, and the gym is apparently still under construction.
- The hotel is waaaaaaaaay too far from the city center. It’s kind of inconvenient if I’m going somewhere or if I want to buy something. There isn’t any shop around, I see only forest when I open my room curtain, and it takes at least 45 minutes if I’m going to town just to get something.
I might be moving to another hotel tomorrow mainly because The Park is really located at the isolated part of Mumbai, and according to my boss, we should be able to get a better deal at Le Meridien (as in better hotel yet cheaper rate)
I definitely do not like moving again once I’ve just settled down at The Park, but I don’t mind if I can get better accommodation, since it’s going to be a long stay for me. Either way, I really appreciated the service provided by the hotel staff in The Park.
Will update you by then :-)
