Disabling UAC in Windows Vista

User Account Control (UAC) is a feature introduced in Windows Vista to improve the security of Windows by limiting applications to standard user privileges until an administrator authorizes an increase in privilege level.
If you’re annoyed by the UAC notifications that prompt up every time you execute an EXE file or run a program even though [...]

Windows DreamScene

Windows DreamScene is an extra feature in Windows Vista Ultimate that allows you to use animated wallpaper over a high definition video file. Aero Support for Media Player Classic

After switching to Windows Vista, everything has been pretty good except that whenever I want to play video file via my favorite lightweight media player – MPC, the eye-catching Aero effect had to be dropped. Meaning to say, there will be no flip3D, no transparent window, nothing.
However, thanks to dattebayo’s workaround here, it is still [...]

My Windows Sidebar Gadgets

After playing with Windows Vista for almost a month and since I’m nothing better to do this morning, I’d like to take this opportunity to post a screenshot of the Windows Sidebar Gadgets that I’m currently using, together with some brief explanation.
I’m trying to make it practical as possible, though I’m still looking for a [...]
